Cultural Connections are a series of guided video conferencing programs designed to connect Indonesians and Australians in the context of current CoVid 19 conditions. The programs aim to achieve the following outcomes:

• To establish and support people to people relationships between Indonesians and Australians

• To develop cultural connections that support future exchange programs and future international travel

• To provide opportunities for language development.

• To help prepare participants should they decide to participate in exchange or immersion programs.

 

Through a facilitator, individual participants will join an initial group video conference at which they will be introduced to the program, and connected to an Indonesian/Australian partner. Following initial introductions and familiarisation activities partners will be encouraged to consider planning a cooperative project that develops cross cultural understanding and provides an opportunity to develop meaningful relationships.

 

Over a series of six weekly video conferences, IndoAustay facilitators will lead participants through exploration and development of their project with the end product being a short, informative presentations to other participants.
